Bandai Namco pulled out all the stops at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 last weekend, unveiling a sweeping lineup of announcements that will keep Dragon Ball fans busy well into 2027. The headlining reveal was the official confirmation of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, a major expansion for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, and the surprise announcement of new Dragon Ball Super anime projects.
The most anticipated reveal was undoubtedly Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, previously teased under the working title “Age 1,000.” Coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027, the game takes place in the distant future where players join the Great Saiyan Squad to protect West City from emerging threats. The late Akira Toriyama contributed to shaping the story and its entirely new Dragon Ball world, marking a departure from the time-patrol narratives of its predecessors. Meanwhile, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will receive its final DLC, Future Saga Chapter 4, this summer after a remarkable decade-long run.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is also getting a substantial upgrade with the Super Limit Breaking NEO expansion, arriving in Summer 2026. The paid DLC adds over 30 new fighters to the roster — including fan-requested characters like Super 17, Bardock in Super Saiyan form, Champa, and several GT-era combatants making their Budokai Tenkaichi series debut. Developer Spike Chunsoft is also introducing a new solo mode called Limit Breaker Journey, which offers branching scenarios, character progression, and rewards that carry over into online play.
Alongside the paid content, a free update will overhaul Sparking! Zero’s battle system with new mechanics designed to make fights faster and more dynamic. Chain Blasts will allow allies to jump in with assists, while a new Sparking! Boost meter adds strategic depth through attack buffs. More than 20 new customization options, four new stages including Kami’s Palace, and fresh costumes round out what Bandai Namco is calling the game’s most ambitious evolution yet.
On the anime front, two new Dragon Ball Super projects were revealed. Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol appears set to adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc from the manga alongside the Universe Survival arc from the anime, though specific details remain scarce. Additionally, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, an enhanced edition of the original anime, debuted a new teaser showcasing upgraded visuals for the iconic clash between Goku and the God of Destruction, while teasing Frieza’s return as a looming threat.
Rounding out the event, Bandai Namco confirmed that Dragon Ball FighterZ will receive Super Saiyan 4 Goku from Dragon Ball: Daima as a new playable fighter, and the Dragon Ball Super Card Game: Fusion World revealed multiple upcoming booster packs scheduled throughout 2026. With Xenoverse 3 on the horizon and Sparking! Zero receiving its biggest content drop to date, the Dragon Ball gaming franchise shows no signs of slowing down.
