Star Trek: Resurgence, the narrative adventure game developed by former Telltale Games staff at Dramatic Labs, has been removed from sale on Steam and Xbox after its distribution license expired. The game, which launched less than three years ago, joins a growing list of licensed titles lost to the complexities of digital distribution rights.
Publisher Bruner House and developer Dramatic Labs confirmed the delisting in a Steam community post, stating simply that their license to distribute the game had come to an end. The studio thanked fans who had supported the title, signing off with the iconic Vulcan farewell “LLAP” — Live Long and Prosper. Players who already own the game will retain access through their existing libraries.
As of now, the game remains available on the Epic Games Store, Nintendo eShop, and PlayStation Store, though it is unclear how long those listings will survive given the broad language used in the delisting announcement. Anyone hoping to pick up a copy should act quickly, as those storefronts could follow suit at any time.
Star Trek: Resurgence originally debuted on the Epic Games Store in May 2023 before arriving on Steam a year later. PlayStation versions followed in late 2024, and the game only reached the Nintendo Switch as recently as August 2025. Set in the aftermath of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the game cast players as Commander Jara Rydek and engineer Carter Diaz aboard the USS Resolute, featuring appearances from beloved franchise characters including Ambassador Spock and a newly promoted Captain Riker.
Critics generally regarded Resurgence as a competent if unspectacular Telltale-style experience, though it earned praise from Star Trek fans for faithfully capturing the spirit of the franchise. For many who grew up watching The Next Generation, the game offered a rare chance to step back into that universe — something the Trek franchise has seldom delivered in the gaming space since the late 1990s.
For collectors and latecomers who miss the digital window entirely, there is one remaining option: Star Trek: Resurgence did receive a physical release on PlayStation and Xbox, meaning second-hand copies may still be found through retail channels. It serves as yet another reminder that in the age of digital storefronts, ownership of licensed games is never truly guaranteed.
